Hey people, this is Jadelyn talking. I will talk all about the last few days in Washington D.C. The last few days where the more
depressing days. That is because
in the last few days we have gone to war
memorials and depressing museum
s like the Holocaust museum. In the Holocaust museum we saw pictures, models, and artifacts from the Holocaust. As y
ou can imagine it was very intense and sa
d for kids like Kylie and I. But to make it worse we w
ent to the Civil War, Vietnam War, and
the Korean War memorials. We also went to
the Arlington Cemetery. This is where President Kennedy and his family are buried. We saw his family plot and there is a flame that never goes out.
The best part of the cemetery is the Tomb of the
Unknown Soldier. There is a guard that marches 21 steps back and fourth guarding the tomb. We got to see the changing of the guard which happens every 30 minutes. It was very impressive! The guard had to yell at 2 different ladies who where not standing during the ceremony. To show respect he asked that everyone stood. Again we walked many miles and the final day we went to the Natu
ral History Museum. We also saw the I
MAX movie Night at the Museum Battle of the Smithsonian. It was great especially because we were there in Washington and had just seen so many of the things that are in the movie :) My favorite part of the museum was the fossils of the dinosaurs and sea animals, I did not like se
eing the present day animals stuffed I would rather see them in the wild or at
a zoo alive! Oh I almost forgot to tell you about the awesome shopping in Georgetown, it was like the best stores ever! Kylie and I got super cute book bags from one of my favorite stores...... JUICY!!!!
Hee Hee it is Kylie ! Today we just left the battlefield of the Civil War Gettysberg, Pennsylvania. We did an awesome tour of the battlefield and all over Gettysberg and we learned a lot about
the Civil War and about dif
ferent Generals and the 3 days of fig
hting between the Union and the Confederates and stuff like that. You can see that Gettysberg has a lot of history. It happened to b
e biker week in Gettysberg so there were m
otorcycles and people with long hair, weird beards and mustaches (like my dads) and leather clothes everywhere. They will have a parade on Sat. that will have 35,000 + bikers in the parade. We also went on a ghost tour this one was different from the one in Savannah. This time we went on a very scary one it was freaking me OUT! We went through the house where the only civilian was shot and killed during the fight at Gettysberg her name is Jennie
Wade and the house she died in was also on the TV show Americas Most Haunted. We think we got a ghost orb in our picture. We also went to a Cyclorama of the war and saw a movie! We also went to a very historical museum all about the war, slaves and Abe Lincoln we heard the famous speech by Lincoln at Gettysberg! We a
re now headed toward the Amish country in Lancaster. Hip hip cherry oh ~ Kylie
